Q: What is NALP?
A: NALP is a nonprofit educational association established
in 1971 to meet the needs of the participants in the legal employment
process — legal employers, law schools, and law students and
graduates — for information, coordination, and standards. NALP's
membership includes virtually every ABA-accredited law school and
more than 900 of the nation's legal employers. NALP is committed
to providing leadership in the areas of legal career planning, recruitment
and hiring, and research related to the employment market for law
graduates. In addition, NALP offers law schools and employers the
option of membership in a professional association whose members
gain direct, ongoing access to the latest information regarding
legal recruitment and employment. For more information, visit www.nalp.org.
Q: What is the NALP Directory of Law Schools?
A: The annual NALP Directory of Law Schools is designed to help recruiters not only learn the recruitment procedures of various law schools but also interpret resumes of law graduates. This Directory provides information on OCI (on-campus interviewing) schedules and contacts at law schools throughout the U.S. and in Canada. Also featured is information about enrollment demographics, courses of study, special programs, honors, grading systems and more. All U.S. law schools included in the Directory have received at least provisional ABA accreditation.
Q: Where can I find the NALP Directory of Law Schools in print?
A: The NALP Directory of Law Schools can be purchased direct from NALP at
(202) 835-1001 or through the online Bookstore at www.nalp.org.
Q: Where does the information in the NALP Directory of Law Schools come from?
A: The NALP Directory of Law Schools is a compilation of law schools'
NDLS Forms. The information on each NDLS Form is provided only by
authorized personnel from the law school completing the form.
Q: When and how is the NALP Directory of Law Schools updated?
A: NALP collects NDLS Forms each spring for publication in
print and online. The print version of the NALP Directory of Law Schools is published
annually in April or May, and the online version is updated at the
same time. However, law schools may update their NALP Forms online
at any time throughout the year.
Q: How can I get help using the NALP Directory of Law Schools?
